I had an ultrasound this morning and we got to see our 2 little miracles!! It's always so exciting to get a peek and see what's going on in there and what is making me SO SICK!!!
We were so thrilled to see they are growing and developing right on the money. Below is baby B's heartbeat......
So here is the story on these little ones:
As soon as Daxton turned 1, I started to get that anxiety back, that baby making anxiety. I knew the time was coming when we were going to have to start going through the IVF process all over again and it's very stressful and very expensive. We Still had 10 frozen embryos leftover from Daxton's batch in AZ. In May, we made the long trip down and did a FET (frozen embryo transfer). They unthawed 5 embryos. One died and the other four were in poor quality but we went ahead with the transfer. Two weeks later we weren't really surprised when we got a NEGATIVE.
We then waited a couple of months and went back down in July for another FET. They unthawed the remaining five embryos and again one died. The embryos were a little better in quality then the ones in May, but still not great. Again, two weeks later we got a NEGATIVE.
At that point I started looking for a new doctor in Utah and with some help from a few friends I finally picked one in Provo. We started a low stimulation IVF cycle right away ( I tend to produce a lot of eggs). I did 10 days of injections and produced 14 eggs. From those, 10 turned into embryos and three days later I went in for the transfer. We had 1 A 8 celled, 1 B 8 celled, 1 B 10 celled, and the rest were all C embryos.
My doctor planned on just transferring the A 8 celled and B 8 celled but I talked him into putting in the B 10 celled as well. The other 7 embryos weren't worth freezing because they never made it to 8 cells.
Ten days after the transfer I was totally bummed because I was just sure that it hadn't worked AGAIN! I had ZERO symptoms!! Shane was starting to get mad at me for being so negative. So that night I took a pregnancy test to prove to him that I knew my body and I wasn't pregnant. I think as soon as a peed on it it said PREGNANT. I was completely shocked!
Two days later I went in for my blood work and when they called me with the results they said:
"congratulations, you are pregnant and it's definitely multiples. Come in in a week so we can see if it is twins or triplets".
We were so excited and a little nervous. We were definitely hoping for twins, triplets is just scary!
When I went in for the ultrasound, my doctor started to look for the sacs and almost immediately said
"There's 2!"
We were so relieved and so so excited!
Our little ones are due on their daddy's birthday 6.30.11!!
