Longest Post Ever!

I have a lot to catch up on so here we go.....

The kids and I went swimming at the Manti Pool yesterday. It was the first time Dax has really been swimming this year (I'm a bad mom, I know) and he cried for the first half hour we were there and wanted out of the water. I refused to let him out and pretty soon he decided he loved it. Here he is jumping to me....

We ran into lots of people we knew including my friend and old college roommate Dani and her two adorable little girls. Here is Dax and her youngest daughter Paisley playing in the water.....

I think this is the first time Dax actually looked at the camera and smiled!!!

Tara and her boys came with us.....here are Kennedi and Jaggar...

.....and Dax and Krew......

Kennedi is quite the little fish! She was all over the place and it was nice not to have to watch her because I had my hands full with Dax.

We went camping last weekend for the first time as a family. I can't say it was the best camping experience I've ever had. Dax is a crazy man and loves to get into everything and pretty much just wanted to be on the 4-wheeler the whole time. It was really hard to get him to sleep because he didn't have his crib, and then I couldn't sleep because I was sleeping in the same sleeping bag with him. He then woke up in a raging fit around 5:30 am. Kennedi slept great through the noise as usual and slept until about 9:00.

That afternoon we left our camp to go fishing and got to the lake and decided we better go back because it looked like it was about to rain. Although we never saw a drop of rain, we could barely get back to our camp because it was so muddy from the rain poored and once we did we found our camp completely destroyed! All the food was cleaned up but our tent was full of water, soaking everything in it. It was so much fun to clean up!

Just tilt your head to see this pic...

This is the only way we could get him to sleep for his nap.....

Shane's parents came up and had breakfast with us....Here is Dax and Grandpa K...

About a month ago, the Coombs, our good friends from AZ, came and stayed with us. We always have so much fun with them. Since they are city slickers, we did lots of "small town" stuff with them like:

Shot some guns......

Rode 4-wheelers to the hat holes.....

And had Shane's dad take us on a wagon ride.....

Fish Lake and Girls Camp

Two weeks ago we had girls camp. It was so much fun! The leaders and the girls were all great! Here they are after their skit....

And of course there had to be rain, here are the leaders in our smokin hot ponchos...

My parents came to my house to watch our kids because it was also football camp for Shane. When we got back we headed to Fishlake to do some fishing. It is so pretty up there! The kids had a blast and the fishermen didn't. I guess July is like the worst month to fish...who knew??

Eclipse

I'm so behind on blogging, but I wanted to post all these pics from the AMAZING Eclipse premier.
Heather and I went to Moab again, and we started off the evening with a big group (friends from Moab...mostly my mom's) dinner up at Sunset Grill...which is so Yummy!
My mom and her friend rented out the theater again so we got to come in early and take all these ridiculous pictures that make me laugh when I look at them. (I promise we're really not crazy, we were just goofing around).
I made the tickets again and loved them!

The girls.....Heather, Kinzee, me, and my mom.

River Trip and a Pageant

I've been slacking on my blog lately. We have had a lot of stuff going on and I really need to get caught up.

We've been working really hard on our yard and it's coming along really well. We had to move a lot of dirt and do a lot of leveling, we got our sprinklers in, got curbing, planted trees and planted all our flower beds, and put our tramp in the ground and put up the kids play set. It's been exhausting and by the end of my days I'm really dirty and really sore (but I'm super dark, LOL). We'll hopefully do hydro seed this week so we can get some grass coming up.

A few weeks ago, we had youth conference in Moab on the Colorado River for 3 days. Even though I grew up in Moab, I've never done a river trip.

I must say we had a blast! All the kids, leaders, and guides were so much fun.

In the pics below, Shane and I are on the back. We are about to hit a rapid and you can see as we get closer to it I start to grab a hold of Shane's life jacket. When we hit it, 3 in the front got thrown off and the rest of us got thrown into the middle on top of each other. It was really scary at the time...but now I just laugh at the pics.
(Don't mind the copyright stamp)

A few days later, Kennedi was in the Little Miss Gunnison Pageant. She did such a great job!
For her Talent, she wanted to dance by herself for some of it and then do ballroom with Payton Dyreng for the rest. So me and Nona came up with a little dance for them.
She did so good. They really didn't crown a "queen", but she won Outstanding Onstage Presence which was kinda the overall winner award.

I can never get a good pic of her and Dax together, he is just too busy to hold still that long.

This is the best one I could get of him....

Thanks to Payton for being such a good partner! They are so cute dancing together.

Swinging from Chandeliers!

I don't think people think we are serious when we talk about Dax, and how he is into EVERYTHING, CLIMBS on EVERYTHING, and DESTROYS EVERYTHING in his path.

Well here's a little proof. We caught him literally swinging from the chandelier this morning......funniest thing I've ever seen!

Softball Season

Softball season is here! Kennedi is playing in a coach pitch league that travels to Manti, Ephraim, Moroni, and Fountain Green.

It's been a lot of fun to watch her play.....she is really athletic, and does a great job for being one of the youngest on the team.

Look at that LEFTY!
