What a year!!

 Our baby boys were created 1 year ago today in a petri dish LOL!!  It's so crazy to think what miracles my 3 little boys are!!  I got to see each of them through a microscope as little 8 celled embryos before they were put in me, and it is AMAZING to see them now.  We're so blessed to have them in our family!!!!

 

Daxton's School

As I've explained before, our little Dax has a speech delay because of a hearing problem that we've hopefully resolved with ear tubes (he just failed his last hearing test though). 

While he is still 2, we are doing an early intervention program through the Health Department, and then when he turns 3, he can start going to Pre-school. 

He goes to his little school/play group once a week and he will start speech therapy tomorrow.

Later that afternoon, he unpeeled all those stickers and put them on poor little Brody's head....good thing he doesn't have a lot of hair!!

He found Kennedi's old Dora backpack and insists on taking it every week!

Since Dax's surgery the end of July, his speech has improved a TON.  He is talking quite a bit and puts words together.  The part we need to work on the most is pronouncing the words right.  For example, he says OUTSIDE like OWHIDE,  so hopefully we can work with the speech therapist and get him caught up to where he needs to be.

And Down He Goes......

On Saturday, my mom and I took all my kids to Richfield to watch my niece Mikenzee play volleyball.  Daxton was running around as usual and fell on the stairs of the bleachers and sliced his forehead open about an inch long.

I didn't see it happen, I was changing Brody's diaper up where we were sitting and a cheerleader from the other team came up and told me that my little boy just fell and split his head open and that some lady (my mom) took him out.  I told Kenna to stay with Bronse and I took Brody and ran to the bathroom.  Luckily, Shane was walking in at that very moment, so I handed  him Brody and went into the bathroom where my mom had Dax.  His little head was bleeding so bad, and as soon as I saw it I knew we needed to get him to the hospital.  Shane and I took him while my mom stayed with the babies.

They came in and changed his bandage and put some numbing stuff on it...... 

 And then we had to wrap him in a sheet and it took 4 of us to hold him down...so awful!  He got 3 internal stitches and 5 external.

The stitches didn't last long though.  After church on Sunday he kept grabbing at them and saying "pull out", and we told him he couldn't pull them out or he'd have to go back to the doctors.  The next morning we noticed he only had one stitch left, he had pulled the rest out in bed.  We asked him what happened to his stitches and was so proud to tell us "pull out".  Hopefully steri stripes can hold it together now!!

2 months old....no wait....3 months old!!!

I think this might be the longest post ever, but I have been such a slacker with my blog and I have so many cute pictures of these baby boys and I need to get some of them on here! So....here we go!!

First, here are some fun facts about Brody and Bronse and almost 3 months old:

1. Brody is now bigger than Bronse.

2. Bronse has reflux. :(

3. Brody has a clogged tear duct on his right eye. :(

4. They eat 4-5 oz every 4 hours.

5. Bronse eats like a turtle, Brody guzzles it.

6. Brody is usually the one to let us know when it is time to eat.

7. They have totally different cries.

8. Brody had LONG brown eyelashes.

9. They usually poop at the same time which is weird.

10. They are just starting to fit into 0-3 month clothes.

11. They love to smile.

12. They go to bed around 9:30 and wake up for a little snack between 5 and 6 and then go right back down until about 8:30.

13. Brody has small ears and Bronse has big ears.

14. Brody has lost almost ALL his hair and the new stuff coming in is dark ???

15. Bronse has really curly hair and is getting lighter the longer it gets.

16. They are rarely fussy at the same time, which is really nice for me!

This has been the BEST summer ever and I'm so sad that it is coming to an end because that means my babies are getting older! This is how I spent most of my days and that is why I'm the whitest I've ever been in the summer time!!

These boys make me SO happy!! I think it is so funny to see how different they look.

AWWWW so cute!!!

2 MONTHS OLD!!! On August 11th, they turned 2 months old. Brody is now bigger then Bronse. Brody was 9 lbs 5 oz 22 1/2 in, and Bronse was 9 lbs 1 oz 22 1/4 in. Brody cracks me up, he has become quite the little chunk, as you can see as you scroll down.

They are finally getting big enough to sit in their little bouncers, but they still prefer their cozy swings most of the time.

This is my good friend Mandii's daughter Riley, she is a couple weeks younger then the boys and has the thickest, prettiest, curly eyelashes!!

We took these pictures at the Sanpete County Fair after the parade. The kids had a great time, Shane and me not so much!! LOL

This is how they still sleep at almost 3 months old. It is getting a little tight in there though, I may have to move them into the crib in the next week or so.

Brody is my first baby to have fair skin, poor little guy, hopefully he isn't as white as Shane!! LOL

My Little 2nd Grader!!

Kennedi started 2nd grade on Monday!! She was so so excited, she couldn't wait to get to school to see all her friends. She has Mrs. James this year, and when she got home she told me that her teacher is the BEST!!

This was the second day of school, she just had to have this hat, and she looks so cute in it!

2 Baby Blessings!!

On Sunday August 7th, we blessed Bronse and Brody. It was such a special day for our family. It was so neat to hear Shane give them individual blessings that fit them so well.

We had all of our family and lots of friends here, which is always fun. We did a luncheon at our home after church and everything turned out just perfect!!

Daxton.....Summer 2011

I need to do a little post all about our little Dax. What can I say, he has the prettiest blue eyes I've ever seen, and he is the naughtiest little 2 year old I've ever met. LOL

He is ALWAYS busy and into EVERYTHING!!! You can't leave this little boy alone for a second. He is very resourceful too. We had to put high locks on all of our doors so he couldn't just run outside anytime he wanted too, but he found a way around that by just moving our bar stools to the doors and unlocking them himself. We then had to tie the bar stools to our bar with shoe laces...it looks really nice! LOL It has done the trick though, we haven't had our neighbor text me in the morning before I wake up to let me know Dax was already over there playing in quite a while (good thing we have wonderful neighbors).

We turned the door handle around in his room so the lock is on the outside so we can lock him in his room when he needs to go to timeout (yes we are mean), but this little guy has figured out how to unlock it from the inside. He will search his room high and low until he finds something that he can use and somehow ALWAYS gets it unlocked...then runs out proud as can be and yells AWHA!!!

How can you not just love him though??

He can be such a GOOD little helper!! He cleaned the toilets when I was in the hospital...LOL


His very favorite thing is tools and scissors. We have to hide all the scissors in our house and somehow he still manages to find them and then chase his sister with them, which he thinks is hilarious! A few months ago, I was doing my make-up and had a towel on my head and he had found some scissors and I didn't know it and he just came up and snipped my ear right on the cartilage part on the top....it bled and bled and it didn't seem to phase him much. He got Shane's drill out the other day while I was in the shower and drilled 5 holes in our hallway walls, all the way through the Sheetrock!
Thursday my dad was here and Dax was in his boat with him while my dad was working on it, and found a razor knife and sliced his little finger open....it was awful, we had to hold him down while he got 4 stitches.


Physically, this little guys is above and beyond anyone his age!! He is absolutely fearless!! on one of the many times he has snuck out of the house, we found him on top of our neighbors big camper trailer, and of course was so proud of himself. I just pray every night that in all of his adventures, that he will be protected and kept safe!!!

He can ride his little bike and he has never used training wheels. He gets going so fast on it, it's so funny to watch him. I took this little video while we were in Moab a few weeks ago. They did this about 20 times, and the one time I video, he wrecked...but it is so funny to watch it back. (just tilt your head to watch it).








Another thing....Dax doesn't talk as well as a little boy his age talks, which is so hard because he gets so frustrated because he can't communicate with us. As of June, he was saying under 20 words, and the words he said weren't pronounced well. He didn't put 2 words together either. We had been worried about it for a while, so we finally took him to an audiologist and ENT. As soon as they put the little camera in his ear, the audiologist said "Oh that is a HORRIBLE eardrum!!" His eardrums were both so full of fluid he was surprised they hadn't burst yet. He explained that Dax hears like he is under water, so there are a lot of sounds he couldn't hear.
We felt sooo bad, but we were so excited to get some answers and to know why he wasn't talking yet.

He had surgery on July 21st to drain the fluid and get ear tubes and remove his adenoids because he snores like an old man!!


His surgery was super fast and went great! His doctor told us he had a lot of fluid in his ears and that his tonsils and adenoids were HUGE. He didn't take out his tonsils though, he thought he was a little too young to do that yet.

It's been a little over a month and we've seen a big difference in him. He is talking a lot more and starting to put words together and seems less frustrated...fewer tantrums. We're hoping he continues say more everyday!
