2 weeks old already??

Yesterday we took Daxton in for his 2 week check-up. He weighs 6lb 8oz (5th percentile), and is now 20 3/4 in long (50th percentile). We got him circumcised, and it was so sad. I stayed in the room to be with him. So crazy to see how they do it. We also did another bilirubin test, and his levels were down to 9.4. Woohoo!!!! No more STUPID lights. We can finally hold our baby.

Jaundice Shmaundice!!

We have been having so much fun with Daxton. He is such a sweet baby!! I forgot how special it is to have a new baby in the house........and seriously, could he be any cuter?

Daxton is still a little jaundice (that is why he is naked in most of these pictures). I had to stop nursing for a couple of days and put him on formula, and that helped his levels come down from 16.7 to 10.1. After I switched back to nursing again, we had to keep him in the "tanning bed" for 2 more days to make sure they stayed down. We had him checked yesterday, and they went to 10.7. Ugh, so now we have to keep him in throughout the weekend. Hopefully on Monday they will get down below ten so we don't have to do this anymore. I can't wait to be able to hold him without feeling guilty that he is not in his bed.

Don't worry, our house is very warm right now...he is not cold :-)

***Cute As Can Be***

Here are some more pictures of Daxton. I just can't get over how stinkin cute he is!! I wish there was a way for time to stand still. I just can't get enough of him. I just want this precious time to last forever! He is such a sweet little baby. So good, he sleeps all night...I have to wake him up to feed him.

On Wednesday, his eyes looked a little yellow, so we took him in to have his bilirubin checked. It was high, so he had to sleep in this little tanning bed looking thing bum naked. It just broke my heart! My mom and I took turns and stayed up with him all night long. We had to monitor his temp to make sure he didn't get cold. Of course he did...he is such a little guy, so every 15 min, we would cover him in blankets for 10 min. It was a nightmare!!
We took him back in yesterday to check his levels, they had went down but not enough. So I called my doctor and asked if there was another way, other then the "tanning bed" to get his levels down, and now we have a light we put on his back under his nightgown, and it is much better! This way we can still hold him.

Can you see how fuzzy his little back is? So cute!

Kennedi absolutely adores him! She wants to hold him constantly, and some times makes me a little nervous. She is getting a little too comfortable with him. The day we got home with him, she was holding him on the couch and next thing you know, she stood up and started walking across the room with him. I just about freaked......so now we have a couple of rules for her and Daxton.

Gotta love all that hair...

I can't get over how much Dax looks like Kennedi did. Sometimes when I'm holding him, I feel like I'm holding her again...so weird. Here is a picture of her a couple days old that is similar to the picture of Dax above.
I love this video of Daxton. His cry is the sweetest little thing!!

DAXTON SHANE KNUDSEN

Daxton Shane Knudsen was born yesterday January 11, 2009 at 3:59 pm. He weighed 6lbs 6oz, and was 20 in long (tall and super skinny just like his big sister!). He is beautiful!! We can't believe how much he looks like Kennedi did (Kennedi had a little bit more hair). He is healthy and doing great!!

Here are some pictures of our sweet baby Dax....

It's Almost Time

I met with my doctor today, and measured at 35 wks, which is a week and a half behind what I should measure. I am scheduled to be induced on Saturday....Wow, how crazy is that!! I have an ultrasound on Thursday, and if my fluid has dropped at all, then I will be induced right then.

I can't believe we are getting ready to meet our baby boy. When I think of everything we went through to get to this point, it just blows me away. There were times when I thought I'd never get pregnant again, and that was a very hard thing to deal with. He truly is our little miracle!! I can't imagine the overwhelming joy I'll feel when I can finally hold him in my arms.

I have loved being pregnant with him. I guess after wanting it so bad, waiting over 3 years, & spending over $20,000 (he is worth every penny!).............you realize how special it really is to be pregnant, to be able to feel hiccups (which he has right now) and all the kicks & wiggles......It's amazing!

I think that we have everything ready for him to come. Here is his crib with the bedding I made. I am really happy with the way it turned out. He and Kennedi will be sharing a room, I'm not thrilled about it, but Kennedi is so excited! She is going to be such a good big sister.

I just want to thank all of you who have left me comments to show your support, and those of you who have been texting me for updates......it really means a lot to me. :-)

**Fun with the Fam**

We just spent the weekend at Shane's mom's house in Bountiful. We had a good time just hanging out with family, playing games, and eating (HMMM, and I wonder why I've gained so much weight).

Kennedi kept saying she wanted to go ice skating, and as luck would have it, there was an indoor rink just a couple blocks away from Shane's mom's house.

She has only ever been ice skating once, when she was 2 years old, but she can roller skate and heeley like a champ, so we weren't too surprised to see that she could also ice skate really well. After a while of skating, she really started to get into it...........

At one point she came out to talk to me, I told her she was doing amazing, and she said "see, I told ya, I told ya I'd be awesome".

Later that night, Kennedi and Kalie put on a little talent show for us. It was pretty funny...

Try to ignore the boys in the background playing the Wii....it was getting pretty competitive (surprise, surprise).

A little baby update.....

When I saw my doctor on Dec 18th, I was 33 weeks and 5 days along but only measured at 32 weeks. So I was sent straight over to the hospital for a non-stress test, and ultrasound. Everything went good, he passed the non-stress test, and from his over-all measurements from the ultrasound, he measured one day ahead.

When I went back to my doctor on Dec 30th, I was 35 weeks 3 days along, and only measured 33 weeks. UGH!! Then he told me that I needed to repeat the ultrasound because they were sure that the baby was measured wrong. Everything on him measured a week ahead, except for his abdomen, which measured like 3 weeks behind.

So after passing another non-stress test, we did another ultrasound to find the same measurements, and also find that I am very low on amniotic fluid....great!. :-(

Yesterday, I had to go in for another non-stress test, and to check to see if I was leaking fluid....which I am not.

SO.......

I have to have another non-stress test on Monday, meet with my doctor on Tuesday, have another Ultrasound on Wednesday, and if things haven't got worse, he is hoping we can keep the baby in at least until Monday, Jan 12th, if not, then we'll be having him next week.

I have been really nervous, but with all of the non-stress tests, they say the baby looks happy, so I am trying not to worry too much. They think that he just isn't getting the nutrients he needs...so he would be better off out here.

So I guess we'll know more next week.
