The Dentist

This morning we got to the dentist's office in Springville at 8:00. They took Kennedi in and gave her some medicine and about 20 minutes later she went to sleep. Then they started on her teeth. She has very soft molars, which runs in my family, so the top two had to have fillings and the bottom two had to have root canals and crowns put on them. She slept through everything and did great until they got to the last one, the bottom right molar. She woke up and was totally freaking out. Me and two nurses had to hold her down, while the dentist continued to do the root canal. I don't know if it was hurting her, because she was still numb, or if it just scared her. After he got it done, she relaxed and went back to sleep, and I just started crying. I just felt so bad that she had to go through that. When she was all done, we drove home and she slept until 5:00 this afternoon. When she finally woke up, I asked her what she remembered and she told me that she woke up and the dentist was choking her and holding her arms and legs down. But she feels good now, and loves her two new silver teeth and she can't stop looking at them in the mirror.

Oh crap that must've been tough! I slept all the way through my caps and teeth work.

Yes I hate having a big forehead. I think I want to get my hairline lowered. Cosmetic surgery is definitely in my future.

Poor girl! That must've been traumatizing for BOTH of you. Grant asked again if he could come over to your house and play today :(

Oh that is horrible! Poor thing! I hate when you have to hold your child down for something that hurts and you can't explain it to them that you are trying to do something good!

I remember being about her age and going to Dr. Ross to have the same stuff done but I only had the gas and could feel ALOT of it so I can empathize.
